Individualized Private Tutoring

What is it?

Our private tutoring services offer a unique service catered to children with developmental disabilities. Our tutors are specially trained and individualize teaching techniques to your child’s learning style. Whether your child needs help in a specific area or needs a skill taught from the beginning, we are here to help you. Our teaching curriculum can cover several skill domains including adaptive skills.

Individualized Plan

We recognize that every child learns differently. At times this may be difficult, time consuming, and require many resources. Our private tutoring offers parents an additional resource to aid in the development and enhancement of pre-academic skills, academic skills, fine/gross motor skills, and adaptive skills. Our goals center around what is appropriate for the child’s age and level of learning. We can also incorporate goals that are identified in the child’s IEP plan, if they have one. It is not necessary for your child to be enrolled in school to receive private tutoring.

Developing Goals

Goals are developed based on the individual needs of the child while assessing what is appropriate for their age and level of learning. Nurture provides assessments to determine your child’s current skill repertoire within the domain of pre-academic skills, academic skills, fine/gross motor skills, and adaptive skills. This assessment is then used to create goals to address the current skill deficits the child presents with.

Our Team

A tutor trained in education and familiar with working with children with developmental disabilities will be assigned to each child. Our tutors are highly energetic, creative, and knowledgeable. They know how to engage with the child and make learning fun and enjoyable. Under the direction of the Education Coordinator, our tutors work on the specified goals to address the child’s skill deficits. Weekly data collection is done to assess weekly progress on the child’s goals.
